Robert did it this year. Maybe next.
You’d think the guy wearing No. 1 would know to get out of the way. Or am I being picky?
Pete Magill, Christopher McDougall
Colin of Resurrected Runner forwarded me a link from Pete Magill’s Younger Legs site on barefoot running, etc. [FIXED LINK] [Edited to add: I watched about 25 minutes of the McDougall tape. While I’ve heard him before, as on Brandon’s Marathon, he never seemed as obnoxious and unlikeable as he does here.]

LOL, the French lady is the one who pooped her pants in an NYC race last year then stood in line for food.

You would think that he’d know to get out of the way. Then again, he didn’t have a clear route running up the stairs since they started us only 5 minutes behind all the women, so maybe he was trying to make up for that…

I must admit that when I was younger and faster, I’d relish the area right past the finish line. (This was the pre-chip days.) Volunteers would shout, “keep moving, keep moving,” and if there were no people behind, I’d just take my time moving through. But you have to know what’s going on around you.
OTOH, watch the finish of the NCAA X-C. They literally drag runners who collapse, and there are a lot, away from the finish area to the side.

He looked knackered, but yes, a bit inconsiderate to block half the finish line. Also, he didn’t cross the second mat, so did he win 😉 Interesting that he walked one of the landings. Tough race. If it’s possible, I might do it as a ‘training run’ when I get to NY.
