I saw this on LetsRun. Recovery Pace.

The perpetual debate: how fast, or slow, should recovery runs be. Perhaps more than anything, I think this one depends on the individual. I feel much more comfortable at a pace that is probably too fast. Were I a high-mileage runner, it might be different. But Daniels pushes one towards the quick side: Calculator.

I tend to run on my own, so for those runs it’s what I feel comfortable doing. But here’s something strange. I have had a few runs at the Rockies with WSSAC teammates who are faster than I am and ended up struggling mightily even though the pace is not faster than it is on my own (based at least on my Garmin). One infamous run left me walking on a hill, and my teammates waiting for me.
